Please note two things: if you've done any custom texturing to models and have modified or replaced the 'pak01_dir.vpk' file, the extraction may crash. Click the 'Extract' button, and then browse for and open the file pak01_dir.vpk (located in 'C:\Program Files\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead') and choose an extraction point. Download and run Gibbed's VPK Extractor, located here. If you have L4D and Garry's mod, you can easily access all that content directly from your game files on your computer.
